Geometry Learning Resources
A six-unit geometry course built around measurement, coordinate reasoning, and proof. Every unit carries the same four supports: a content summary, worked sample problems, a review sheet for the assessment, and a set of equations and rules.
Content Summaries
Lesson-by-lesson notes written the way the material is taught in class: the idea first, then the method, then a worked example in the format students are expected to reproduce.
Sample Problems & Review Sheets
Practice in the format of the homework, the quiz, and the unit assessment, with solutions hidden until after a serious attempt.
Student-Led Inquiry
Each unit includes a hands-on project where teams write their own question, gather real measurements, and defend a number with evidence rather than with the answer key.
How Each Unit Is Built
The four supports are the same in every unit, so students always know where to look.
| Support | What it is | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Content summary | The lesson map, the core ideas, vocabulary, and worked examples. | While learning the lesson, and again before the quiz. |
| Sample problems | Problems in homework and assessment format, with full solutions behind a click. | After class, before attempting the homework handout. |
| Review sheet | An assessment rehearsal, timed, in the same order as the real thing, with an answer key and a reteach guide. | The night before the unit assessment. |
| Equations & rules | Every formula and coordinate rule for the unit on one printable page. | Any time. Print it and keep it in the notebook. |
| Inquiry project | A hands-on, student-led investigation with a rubric. | Across several class days, usually as the unit closes. |
Units
Units 1 through 3 are complete. Units 4 through 6 follow the same structure and are being written in sequence.
Unit 1: Right Triangles, Distance & Rigid Motion
The Pythagorean Theorem and its converse, distance on the coordinate plane, the distance formula, translations by vector, and reflections across the axes, the line y = x, and the line y = −x.
Unit 2: Congruence & Similarity
Congruent polygons and corresponding parts, triangle classification, isosceles triangles, medians and altitudes, similar figures and scale factor, the triangle proportionality theorem, and similarity in right triangles.
Unit 3: Polygons & Parallel Lines
Polygon angle sums, regular polygons, the exterior angle theorem and triangle inequalities, vertical angles and angle pairs, parallel lines cut by a transversal, parallelograms, and trapezoid midsegments.
Unit 4: Triangles & Triangle Congruence
Triangle classification, the triangle sum and exterior angle theorems, congruence criteria, and proof with congruent triangles.
Unit 5: Similarity & Right Triangle Trigonometry
Dilations and scale factor, similar figures, proportional reasoning, and the sine, cosine, and tangent ratios.
Unit 6: Polygons, Circles, Area & Volume
Polygon properties, circle relationships, perimeter and area of composite figures, surface area, and volume of solids.
